The five Cuban nationals who were imprisoned in the United States for investigating terrorism kicked off their tour of Venezuela on Monday. They were hailed as heroes in the capital city of Caracas for infiltrating right-wing exile groups that plotted against Cuba and were also praised for enduring prison terms of up to 16 years. The final three of the Cuban Five returned home on December 17 last year. In Caracas, city leader Ernesto Villegas praised Fernando, Ramon, Antonio, Gerardo and Rene for being an example of dignity and “the banner of our struggle.” teleSUR
