Land In The Continental U.S. Valued At Nearly $23 Trillion

An economist with the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis has calculated the value of the land in the lower 48 states plus D.C. at nearly $23 trillion based on 2009 data; buildings, infrastructure, and bodies of water were excluded.

An economist has calculated the value of all the land in the contiguous U.S. along with the District of Columbia. 


William Larson, with the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, recently released a study that put the figure for the country’s 1.89 billion acres at nearly $23 trillion based on data from 2009.
