Hundreds of demonstrators have gathered in the Bangladeshi capital, to remember those killed when a garment factory collapsed two years ago.
More than 11-hundred people died in the Rana Plaza disaster in Dhaka. The factory had been illegally constructed.
Some of the survivors and relatives of the dead claim they are still waiting for adequate compensation.
“I haven’t received any compensation from the government yet. I can’t support my family, my children can’t go to school. I’m crippled forever,” said Nilufar Begum, a worker who was injured when the building collapsed.
It is claimed that a multi-donor fund to compensate those affected by the disaster is around five and a half million euros short.
The garment industry accounts for more than 80 percent of Bangladesh’s export earnings,employing some four million people.
