The latest migrant boat tragedies have resulted in more than one thousand deaths in just one week. Those who died were fleeing from war, terror and economic deprivation. Many face such a desperate situation in their home countries that they are willing to risk death in order to reach Europe. Can the EU help these refugees? Does it even want to? Or is it determined to keep the migrants out?
