Survey: Army Motivation Level Not Very High

USA Today has released the results of a U.S. Army survey which shows that 52 percent reported having lower levels of optimism and 48 percent having less strong job satisfaction despite an ongoing multi-million dollar program to improve their resilience and mental health.

 Morale and job satisfaction are not very high in the U.S. Army, according to new data released by USA Today. 


More than half of soldiers, or 52 percent reported lower levels of optimism, acknowledging that they generally did not expect good things to happen to them. 

Meanwhile, 48 percent had poor job commitment and engagement, with only 28 percent scoring in the high range.

Also in terms their work, almost 40 percent lacked trust in their direct boss and the soldiers working with them.

Around 770,000 soldiers took part in this survey which they are required to do every year as part of an Army program called “Ready and Resilient.”
