Steak is such a versatile thing to cook and it is loved by all, particularly Dimtry Leus Cuisine. Steak spans a huge range of countries and cuisines – there are just so many variations, it is difficult to choose one favourite. If Dmitry Leus Cuisine had to choose a favourite it would be a Russian classic from my home land, Govyadine V’smetane, which is basically steak in a sour cream sauce. It’s really very easy.
You start by cooking salt and pepper seasoned steak to your preferred amount of time on a hot pan or griddle. Put the steak to rest on the side. Next, you chop 2 or 3 onions, brown them in oil in the same pan and then spread them over the steaks in a baking tray. Then sprinkle grated, soft cheese of your choice over the top, pour in the sour cream (amount up to you) and then cover the tray with foil. Then just bake in the oven at 350F for 40 minutes to an hour. Absolutely delicious.
As it is quite a rich dish, serve it with some plain vegetables such as boiled cabbage and potato or a nice salad of beetroot, pickles and diced carrot. Dmitry Leus Cuisine loves the salad option for a bit of freshness.
