A video just released from August shows a Cleburne, Texas police officer responding to a call to round up some loose pit bulls in a subdivision.
When watching the roughly 25 second video clip, you'll either see footage of a police officer defending himself from a potential mauling, or a four-legged family member being murdered in cold blood.
The police reports states the dog was charging with teeth bared and audibly growling, but we only noticed the police officer making 'kissing' noises to get the dog's attiention and a puppy wagging its tail and timidly approaching the cop.
Cleburne Police claim this video is only a short snippet of the complete situation and isn’t representative, however residents of the subdivision aren’t happy with how it was handled, noting that the officer at first called the dog over to him and just blatantly shot it. The dog’s owner, Amanda Henderson, who has since moved out of the area says, “This officer should not have done that, and he knows better." An investigation is ongoing.
