A small hotel in South Wales used to house homeless people became the scene of horrific murder in the early hours on Friday.
Hotel staff alerted police after a man began attacking a woman, but when they responded to the call they found the man bent over the woman’s body and eating pieces of her face.
The cannibal, identified as 34-year-old Matthew Williams, was found eating both flesh and the eyeball of the 22-year-old British woman he had reportedly been dating.
Officers immediately used a high-voltage taser on the killer, but it was too late to save the woman, who was declared dead at the scene.
As the cannibal killer was being taken to the hospital, he became unresponsive, and despite attempts to revive him, he died. Police are investigating, but no motive for the cannibalistic attack is currently known.
One UK news source said the killer had been using cocaine before the grisly killing and that he also had a criminal history, having served five years for a violent attack on another woman. He had gotten out of prison just two weeks before this horrific murder.
