Benjy is a bull living on a farm on County Mayo, Ireland.
The question is how much longer will he be there?
Benjy is a breeding bull who was purchased to…. well, breed with female cows living on the farm. The farmer, who wishes to remain anonymous, brought Benjy home and set him loose on his herd of females.
However, there weren’t any measurable results despite Benjy spending many weeks among the heifers. None of the heifers were pregnant.
The farmer had Benjy checked out and the vets declared him completely healthy, so the problem lay somewhere else. Eventually, the farmer noticed that Benjy spent more time chasing the other bulls of the same gender in the field.
Could the farmer have a gay breeding bull on his hands?
A replacement bull was brought in and several of the heifers were impregnated, so it seems that the farmer’s suspicions may be right. Unfortunately, he said he has no use for a breeding bull that won’t breed.
So what’s going to happen to poor Benjy? Is he going to be sent to the slaughterhouse just for being born that way?
