The polite thing to do when a pregnant woman gets on a crowded bus is to offer her your seat.
Which is exactly what one woman did on a crowded Hong Kong bus last Sunday. After all, she was just being polite.
The pregnant woman took the offered seat without a word of thanks and proceeded to ignore the other woman.
The good Samaritan waited for a few minutes, initially confused and then increasingly frustrated at the lack of appreciation. So she tapped the pregnant woman on the shoulder and told her that she thought she’d dropped her mobile under the seat.
The pregnant woman stood up to let her look for her lost phone.
The Samaritan than plopped back into the seat and told the pregnant woman, if you can’t even say thank you then you don’t deserve it!
The pregnant woman than demanded to know why she had to be thankful, after all, she was pregnant, wasn’t that difficult enough?
After a few minutes of arguing the pregnant woman waddled off the bus as no one else on the bus seemed inclined to offer her a seat after her display of attitude.
