Car plunges 7 storeys from Bangkok parking lot after crashing through wall

2015-04-14 1

A 35-year-old Thai woman was killed on November 25 when her car smashed through the retaining wall of a multilevel parking lot and fell 70 feet to the street below.

A witness said the woman’s Honda Civic crashed into her car as it sped down a ramp from the 7th floor of The Mall Bangkapi’s parking lot in Bangkok’s east.

Without slowing down, the Honda connected with another two cars, she said, before it slammed into the concrete wall and burst through it.

The car then flipped head over tail and landed on its roof. The Bangkok Post identified the driver as Supaporn Wiangnak. She was dead before rescuers could pull her from the wreck.

Police said her husband had recently had the car serviced, and it’s possible the accelerator had become stuck.
