Another case to be added to the growing list of deaths caused by law officers in America. A father of four children, Rumain Brisbon was unarmed and shot by police last week.
Around 200 people turned out for a rally and protest in downtown Phoenix against the police force and officer responsible for Brisbon’s death.
The officer in question had been investigating a burglary when a call came in that an individual was suspected of dealing drugs out of his vehicle. The officer located the vehicle with Brisbon inside, Brisbon ran after spotting the police officer and the officer gave chase.
The officer eventually caught up to Brisbon and it was during the ensuing scuffle that Brisbon was shot as he reached for something in his pocket.
Police later found drugs and a gun in the van belonging to Brisbon.
Civil rights activists, clergy, and community members marched on police headquarters demanding answers as well as the name and identity of the officer involved.
