A registered sex offender will be able to keep his winnings after he won a $3 million lottery jackpot in Florida.
Timothy Poole, 43, won the Super Million’s scratch-off lottery after buying a $20 ticket from a 7-Eleven store near Orlando, last weekend.
According to Florida Department of Law Enforcement records, Poole pleaded guilty in 2002, for sexual battery, involving two victims under the age of 12.
He was released from prison after serving three years in 2006, but denies the allegations.
In Florida, there are no laws preventing anyone convicted of committing a crime from winning the lottery.
