Two men are dead and a third is recovering after their snowmobiles plunged through thin ice at Seeley Lake in Montana.
The men were part of a group of five who on December 26 cut their snowmobiles across the lake, too early in the season as the lake has not completely frozen, NBC Montana reported.
Two of the men made it across safely when they realized their friends were missing. The men went back and that’s when they were able to pull a 48-year-old man from the water.
Kurt Starkele, 28 and Derek Flesch, 25, were killed in the crash.
