Carjacking caught on video: Australian bad guys try to outrun the cops (and fail hard)

2015-04-14 147

Australian police released dramatic video they say shows two men firing a gun as they try to avoid arrest by running through traffic.

The drama began on February 5 when Queensland police began pursuing a car near Brisbane until it crossed the state border.

New South Wales police stopped the vehicle shortly afterwards using a spike strip, at which point the men abandoned the vehicle and appeared to attempt to carjack another one.

Video then shows the men pointing a gun at oncoming cars and causing at least one collision, when a red car that had stopped near the gunman was hit from behind by a silver car.

At one point, one of the gunmen is seen trying to stop a car but is hit by the vehicle when it does not stop. He can be seen dropping his weapon and running.

Police said no one was injured in the incident.

Both men have been charged with attempted murder and face more charges in relation to carjacking a total of three cars earlier in Queensland, local media reported.
