Gunfire and fights broke out after a group of 800 to 900 middle school and high school students tried to storm a movie theater at a Florida shopping mall Saturday night.

According to Orange County deputies, more than 800 middle school and high school students tried to rush into the AMC theater inside West Oaks Mall in Ocoee, near Orlando, before midnight. Some 200 teenages managed to enter the mall, causing a commotion in the food court and movie theater area as they attempted to watch movies without paying.

Multiple fights erupted and gun shots were heard after security guards successfully pushed the teens out of the mall and police responded to the scene.

Officials said the chaos spread to surrounding businesses on West Colonial Drive, and a teen was arrested at a Taco Bell after gunshots were heard. A large group of teens gathered at a gas station, where they stole things and tried to pick fights with people.

Police got things under control at about midnight. A stolen car and drugs were found during the investigation.

According to the Ocoee Police department, one teenager was arrested for battery and resisting an officer without violence, while a second was seized on misdemeanor drug charges. What exactly triggered the incident remains unclear.
