The teen accused of shooting a Las Vegas woman after an apparent road rage incident told two of his friends hours after the shooting that he had shot someone, according to a police report released on Friday.
The two friend told authorities that Erich Milton Nowsch had texted one of them after the shooting and asked if he could come over. He said he had important news, one of the witnesses told police.
Nowsch told his friends about two shootings and said people in a green car were after him.
The 19-year-old will be arraigned Monday and faces multiple charges, including one count of murder. He is also charged with one count of attempted murder, three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, and two counts of firing a gun from a car.
Authorities said Nowsch shot 44-year-old mother of four, Tammy Meyers, in front of her house on Feb. 12 after there was a confrontation while Meyers was giving her daughter a driving lesson.
Police said there were two shooting scenes: one near a junior high school and the other in front of the Meyers’ residence.
Six .45 calibre cartridge casings were found at the first scene.
Seven more .45 casings were picked up at the site of the killing, one .45 bullet with blood on it and three 9mm cartridge casings.
Brandon Meyers, Tammy Meyers’ 22-year-old son, fired back at Nowsch with a Beretta 9mm handgun after he said Nowsch aimed at him and his mother.
According to Nowsch’s friends, Nowsch said he was riding in a silver Audi sedan when he was threatened, so he loaded his gun and shot at the green car.
After the shooting, Nowsch and the person driving the Audi switched cars and the friend dropped him off at Sante Fe Station, a hotel and casino, the police report said. Police are still looking for the other suspect.
Apparently, Tammy Meyers was giving her daughter, Kristal Meyers, a driving lesson in a green 1993 Buick sedan in the junior high school parking lot. Tammy Meyers took an indirect route home, and while she was on a six-lane road, a silver Audi pulled up next to them. Kristal Meyers then reached over and honked the horn. The Audi then followed them for a while before finally passing them and stopping sideways in front of them.
Kristal Meyers told police that a tall driver got out and yelled, “I’m going to come back for you and your daughter.” Nowsch is much shorter.
Tammy Meyers then went home and told her daughter to get her son so they could go look for the people that had just threatened them. Brandon Meyers then went into his grandmother’s room and grabbed his gun.
The two drove around for a little bit before running into the silver Audi. They followed it and at some point the car stopped and the passenger shot at them.
Tammy Meyers then sped home and when she parked in front of the house, Brandon Meyers got out and ran over to his mother. Before he could help her out, the Audi came down the street and the passenger shot at them.
Brandon Meyers said he fired three times at the driver but didn’t know if he hit anything.
Tammy Meyers was shot in the head. She died two days later in a hospital.
