Hillary Clinton scandal: ex Secretary of State used personal email to conduct official business

2015-04-14 11

It seems that instead of using a normal something@state.gov email address, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was using her personal email address to conduct official business.

This is like an advanced version of us regular folk letting our business conversations from your work spill out onto Facebook or Whatsapp, or something. It's worse because it's also a breach of National Security.

If she had used an official .gov email address, her communications would be both secure and subject to sunshine laws and archived automatically by the National Archives and Records Administration. Sure she just hand-picked and turned over 50,000 pages from her private account—but what did she leave out?

Now Mrs Clinton has unofficially entered the 2016 Presidential Race, we wonder what other ways she'll creatively reuse apps while conducting official POTUS business if she's elect?

Mrs. Clinton is not the first government official to do this, but her exclusive use of her private email for all of her work, seems out of order. The use of private email accounts is supposed to be limited to emergencies, such as when an agency's computer server is not working.

The main issue is why didn't anyone on the Obama Administration's IT staff make her an official account?
