Secret Service in action: Did 2 agents get into a drunk driving accident at the White House?

2015-04-14 23

The White House is investigating an incident involving two senior Secret Service agents who drove a government vehicle into temporary security barriers on March 4.

The two agents were allegedly tipping a few back at a retirement party for a former Secret Service agent when they were called in to duty.

D.C. police officers had closed off traffic to investigate a suspicious package found near 15th Street and Freedom Plaza.

After flashing their badges, the agents drove through police tape and crashed into a temporary barricade.

Officers on-the-scene suspected the agents had been drinking but were told by one of their superiors to let them go.

One the the agents involved was Mark Connolly, who happens to be the number-two man on Obama's detail. The other agent was identified as George Ogilvie, a senior supervisor.

All eyes are on the Secret Service's new director Joseph Clancy to see how he handles his fumbling agents.
