The Earth has been pummeled with magnetic plasma over the last three days following a coronal mass ejection on Sunday.
And while that may sound dangerous, solar storms such as these in fact interact with the Earth's magnetic field to produce the amazing natural phenomena known as the aurora borealis, northern lights, and aurora australis, the southern lights.
