At least 13 people are dead after militants opened fire on vehicles traveling along the Kabul-Ghazni highway in Wardak province's Sayad Abad district in Afghanistan at around midnight Tuesday.
Three separate vehicles, including a bus, were attacked. At least 13 people, including one woman, were killed in the attack.
Security forces arrived after the shooting and engaged in a firefight with the gunmen. One of the gunmen was killed, while the others fled the scene.
The area is known Taliban territory and militants launch frequent attacks on security forces. However, no group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
