48-year-old Secret Service supervisor Xavier Morales has been placed on indefinite administrative leave after a female employee accused him of assaulting her at the agency headquarters.
The woman claimed Morales said he loved her and wanted to have sex with her during a party at the Capitol City Brewing Company in Washington, D.C. on March 31.
The party was held to celebrate Morales' promotion as head of the Secret Service at the Louisville field office, he was scheduled to report for duty there this week.
Back at the office, Morales tried to kiss the woman and grabbed her arms when she tried to stop him. The woman alleged that Morales only relented after a brief struggle between the two.
The female agent filed the complaint with officials in the Secret Service's internal investigations division on Thursday. Morales has been placed on indefinite administrative leave and his name has been added to an internal 'do not admit' list, prohibiting him entry to the office.
The Secret Service also took away his gun and badge after agency investigators began a preliminary review of the complaint.
Morales has declined to comment on the incident.
"The Secret Service is an agency that demands that our employees conduct themselves with the highest level of integrity. These allegations as reported are very disturbing," Director Joseph P. Clancy said in a statement to The Washington Post. "Any threats or violence that endangers our employees in the workplace is unacceptable and will not be tolerated."
Morales is the head of the security clearance division, which decides which agents lost their jobs because of misconduct.
