How to Tap Your Untapped Potential: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

The good part about tapping your untapped potential is obvious to almost everyone. Almost everyone I’ve ever talked to, and you may feel the same way, you know you’ve got more in reserve. You haven’t gone way down inside and really exploited everything that you’re capable of. And you may even have aspirations to do so, but they’ve been frustrated at times. And that can be the bad part.

The bad part is that you can get so concerned with wanting to tap your untapped potential that you’ll try almost anything and everything, and you’ll wind up going in circles. You can be chasing your tail and trying this new technique or that new technique and taking all kinds of training, but not really knowing exactly how to focus and discriminate between what’s really going to be useful, so you need to have solid information, and if you’re not getting it, that’s bad.

The ugly part, that can be running into people who really are interested in selling you their version of snake oil, and they’re kind of creepy. They don’t really have something deep to tell you, but they’re very, very capable of sort of convincing you quickly that you should follow their tribe or their little pied piper thing that they’re doing. Watch out for that.

You may have already run into it, and it can frustrate you so much, you can swear off going after what’s good because you can say, how do I get there? I don’t see a way. Well, there is a way to get there. There’s a way past that. For the last 20 years, I’ve been working on that with people, and I’ve developed methods to teach you exactly how to do that.
