Mexico: Impunity rampant in femicide cases

2015-04-08 9

Two weeks ago the Mexican Supreme Court defined the murder of Mariana Lima Buendía as a gender-based murder, but much more could be done by the courts to address this issue. According to official statistics, more than seven femicides a day occur in Mexico, and over the past 28 years 44,000 women have been murdered. Clayton Conn reports from Mexico for teleSUR.
