Venezuela: Signature Campaign Goes International

The campaign to collect 10 million signatures on a petition campaign to demand that US President Barack Obama rescind his executive order declaring Venezuela as a threat US national security has gone international. A Day of Solidarity with Venezuela was held at UN headquarters, with diplomats from member states and international organizations such as the Group of 77+China, Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), Nonaligned Movement (NOM), and the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) signing the petition. In Venezuela, the number of signatures on the petition now tops 6 million. President Nicolas Maduro reported that 4.5 million tweets in support of Venezuela were posted as part of the solidarity campaign. teleSUR
