SWAT teams attack hundreds of thousands of U.S. homes every year

Police use of heavy weapons in Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) teams can leave communities feeling violated and unsafe. The Mayor of a small town outside Washington D. C. tells of a four-hour police attack on his own home on the pretext that a box of mariguana had been delivered to the address. The Mayor has learned that similar traumatic incidents have happened to hundreds of residents in his county alone. A report by the American Civil Liberties Union found that military training and the use of military equipment has increased drastically over the last few decades and that hundreds of thousands of home are attacked by militarized police every year.
