Honduras: Protests hit murder of high school student leaders

2015-03-27 18

Protests are being held in the Honduran capital to protest the murders of four high school student leaders, organizers of last week's demonstrations against the extension of the school day. While the protests began with high school students, they have been joined by university students, the opposition Libre Party of Manuel Zelaya, and the National Resistance Front. The protesters, who charge right-wing death squads with responsibility for the killings, are now demanding the resignation of Education Minister Marlon Escoto and President Juan Hernandez.
