Reportedly, next-gen Jaguar XF is unveiled ahead of New York Motor Show. This prestigious feat of getting the mid-sized British sedan off the cover took place at Royal Dock of Canary Wharf in London. Placed on the ropes measuring slightly thicker than an inch, its credentials of new lightweight platform was shown to the world by driving the car on them for nearly 240-meters over River Thames. Coming out dry on the other side, it was the famous Hollywood stunts driver Jim Dowdell who registered this jaw dropping stunt in his name.
Focusing on the new XF, it is based on fresh aluminum platform which makes it lighter by 190kgs. On this structure, new XF feels shorter and lower, but wheelbase stretched by several inches provides additional legroom.
Apparently, the ratio of aluminum used, translates XE for a better fuel-economy and low carbon emission. Hence, the makers are betting hard for it to register a benchmark in the industry against the BMW 5-Series and Mercedes E-Class. Pen down your views in the comments section below…
