"Early In The Morning", originally titled, "Early In The Mornin'", written and performed by laid-back, soft-voiced pop singer Larry Santos is one of the hard-to-find, long-lost forgotten oldies of 1975, produced by the late Detroit soul producer Don Davis that Casablanca Records forgot to release as his second single on 7" vinyl after his first single, "We Can't Hide It Anymore", written by Barry Murphy, taken from his 1975 self-titled album, with the flip-side of that song, "Lover".
It was sorely missed out on the Billboard Hot 100 Pop Music Charts, Easy Listening Music Charts and Adult Contemporary Music Charts.
The Christian-flavored inspirational acoustic pop ballad, "Early In The Morning" is an early example of Christian pop music which is way before Sandi Patti, Amy Grant, Kathy Troccoli, Sheila Walsh, Michael W. Smith and other Christian artists.
In this song, the biblical words "You", "Your" and "One" refer to holy newborn baby child; The biblical words, "I", "My" and "Me" refer to God, the Lord or Jesus like in the inspirational lyrics:
"I long to touch You like the rising sun"
"I want to feel Your warmness by My side"
"So come and lay by Me and stay by Me
Don't be afraid to open up Your love and let Me in
I've needed One like You to love Me too"
It's too bad that it was never played on an oldies radio station, called WCBS-FM nor played on an easy listening radio station, called WLTW Lite FM other pop radio stations, plus it was never released on sheet music.
