The price of products at IKEA's Korea branch are the second highest after Sweden among 21 OECD member nations recently surveyed.
The Consumers Union of Korea says... of the 49 pieces of furniture included in the survey, roughly 90 percent of the products were more expensive than the average... and just over 71 percent were listed in the top five.
In its defense, IKEA Korea says... it's unfortunate the consumers' union only looked at 49 of the 92-hundred products IKEA has in stock in Korea... and said that most of the products in the survey are items that are popular in Europe, not Korea.
It added that IKEA sets prices after evaluating numerous market factors for each country.
