Another seemingly uncomfortable subject between the U.S. and China is the China-led Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank.
At a regular press briefing on Tuesday, U.S. State Department spokesperson Jen Psaki said... the decision on whether to join the AIIB rests squarely with each sovereign country, including South Korea.
But Psaki added that the multilateral institution should closely follow the high standards established at the World Bank... and other regional development banks as well.
Britain announced last week that it would join the bank,... becoming the first western country to do so... followed by France, Germany and Italy.
