Yesteryear, Mini launched the new Cooper in diesel trim of three-and five-doors across India, but it refrained from launching the new petrol at that time. Now, after a long gap, when the diesels have settled quietly in the market, maker realized the vacancy and rolled-out an S version of the Cooper for a price of Rs 34.65 lakh. Loaded with 2.0-litre 4-cylinder twinturbo petrol unit, the hatchback is capable of doing 0-100 in 6.7 seconds and attaining a top-speed of 233kmph. Interestingly, the Cooper S is almost similar to Cooper D inside out except for the badges.
Hence, company said to import it as a fully built unit in India, translating to a costlier side of the pricing.
