The Mexican Interior Ministry has decided to close the country's archives on the Dirty War from the 1970s to the 1990s thereby preventing public access to such information. The archives of the country's spy agency CISEN had been declassified 14 years ago and the data have been used in documenting human rights violations. Critics charge the closing of the historic archives is arbitrary and sends a bad signal in relation to transparency. Clayton Conn reports from Mexico City. teleSUR
