The Pasimachus californicus, sometimes known as the warrior beetle, is a predatory species that feeds on devil scorpions in the wild. This type of scorpion is considered a pest in the US state of Arizona, where it sometimes enters people’s homes. It also packs a nasty sting, but this video shows the warrior beetle avoiding that threat by biting off the scorpion’s tail. Survival of the fittest is not always a pretty sight!
