Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton addressed head-on the growing controversy surrounding her use of private emails while in office.
Republican members of Congress have been her hardest critics, who claim the move was an attempt to cover up important facts from the public about her work.
In an attempt to defuse the situation, Clinton held a press conference at the United Nations in New York on Tuesday.
There, she said she regretted her choice in correspondence but stressed he didn't violate any rules.
She also insisted that no classified materials were ever sent via her personal emails.
The controversy comes ahead of Hillary Clinton's expected bid for the Democratic presidential nomination for the 2016 election .
