South Asian Fashion Exhibition (SAFE)

2015-03-10 1

South Asia is one of the least integrated regions in the world. The textiles and clothing (T&C) sector is one of the most important and leading sectors for South Asian countries. Intra-SAARC trade in textile & clothing outweighs inter-regional trade in any other product. However, the literature indicates that inadequate trade facilitation measures have become the leading non-tariff barriers that reduce intra-regional trade in South Asia. Against this backdrop, it is essential to gather the fashion and textile giants on one platform to improve trade flows among South Asian countries and their trading partners. This initiative will also suggest that policy makers in South Asia must promote trade facilitation in order to boost merchandise trade among countries in the South Asian region.

South Asian Fashion Exhibition will be a unique trade event, which provides platform to textile companies, retail brands and fashion designers from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Maldives and Nepal. They all are invited to showcase their brands and also avail an opportunity to build strong business relationship with their counterparts.

The main objective of three-day fashion exhibition is to promote the regional trade, culture, tourism, textile and fashion industry within South Asian countries and across the globe.
