In January, the University of Michigan's Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity and its sister sorority ransacked more than 40 rooms at the resort.
Initially, the estimates for the destruction ranged from anywhere between 50 and upwards of 80 thousand dollars, however in the month and a half since the weekend, that amount has rapidly climbed.
Treetops Resort, general manager, Barry Owens told the Detroit Free Press, "If you just look at our out-of-pocket expenses, things we've paid to contractors, third parties, it's around $230,000. It doesn't take into consideration management time or damage to the resort's reputation."
