Samsung pins its hopes on new Galaxy S6

Samsung has unveiled its latest weapon in the intensive battle of the smartphones.

The South Korean company is pinning its hopes on the light and slim Galaxy S6 and its curvier brother.

The phone was presented to an eager audience at the the Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona on Sunday by Samsung CEO JK Shin.

Designed from scratch, the phone features a casing made from light-weight metal used in airplanes, a step up from the plastic that disappointed many critics of the S5. So will it put the company back on track after losing market share in 2014?

“The final verdict will come from customers”, said Riccardo de Franchis, Marketing Director Samsung Italia. “But I think today we unveiled the most innovative and and beautiful product on the market. So of course, in our opinion, everything points to a strengthening of our market position.”.
