House of Representative Democrats are calling for new measures to improve US relations with Cuba. Following their visit to Havana, the legislators urged that the Barack Obama administration remove Cuba from the State Department's list of countries that sponsor terrorism. Opinion polls show 60% public support for measures to improve relations between the two countries with 46% saying they view Cuba favorably, compared to just 10% in 1996.
