THE GLOVE (Steven Severin of SIOUXSIE & THE BANSHEES on bass, Robert Smith of THE CURE on guitar and JEANETTE LANDRAY of the ZOO dance troupe on guest vocals) ‘miming’ this track off their 1983 ‘BLUE SUNSHINE’ LP on The Riverside music programme (BBC2, UK TV, 24 October 1983) filmed at the steam museum by Kew Bridge on the River Thames in West London, England, UK. THE GLOVE being augmented here by two CURE members at the time, Andy Anderson on drums and Porl Thompson on violin, just for that show.
According to Steven Severin, he was “fairly delirious when writing this song” in which there’s a film reference to the 1979 controversial ‘Caligula’, directed by Tinto Brass (featuring stars the caliber of Malcolm McDowell, John Gielgud, Peter O'Toole & Helen Mirren) and particularly to the scene where Peter O'Toole, as Emperor Tiberius, calls naked boys and girls out of his pool by saying: "Out my little fishes, you’ve had enough for today".
‘BLUE SUNSHINE’ LP was released 9 September 1983 in UK and a week later it peaked at #35 on the UKTop40 Albums charts.
