John Kerry & Chaudhry Nisar Complete Press Conference 20 February 2015
WASHINGTON: United States Secretary of State John Kerry after meeting Pakistan Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said that Pakistan and US are working jointly for peace in the region, ARY News reported.
Talking to media, Kerry also lauded Pakistan’s efforts to wipe out terrorists and terrorism and its top leadership’s co-operation in counter terrorism operations.
“We’re grateful for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s commitment to this, for General Raheel’s efforts. They’ve been real”, remarked Kerry.
Kerry also praised PM Pakistan and Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif for their commitment to democracy in the country and their efforts to strengthen it for stability.
The US secretary of State maintained that Pakistan and US face many challenges in the future and both countries are looking forward for cooperative effort on the economy as well as the cooperative effort in counterterrorism and democracy building.
Chaudhry Nisar Speaks
Pakistan Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar on the ocassion said claimed that relations between US and Pakistan have always been good.
Nisar added that both the United States and Pakistan are working very, very closely not only in the area of counterterrorism, but also in the economy and in bringing about sanity and peace in the region.
