Honduran indigenous leaders oppose land expropriations

Representatives of indigenous peoples and Afro-descendants in Honduras charge that their territories continue to be expropriated for hydroelectric and mining projects, in addition to the lack of economic incentives which causes high emigration rates. As part of the activities previous to the periodic assessment by the United Nations, leaders of the 8 indigenous peoples of the country spoke about the problems they face in their communities. teleSUR
