On Monday, Egypt carried out air strikes against Islamic State group targets after the beheading of 21 Egyptian nationals in Libya over the weekend. Although Egypt has now dropped its call for a UN mandate for military intervention in the country, others are calling for immediate action against the expansion of the Islamic extremists. What future can there be for an already beleaguered Libya?
