Hundreds of mourners in Copenhagen have turned out for the funeral of Dan Uzan, a Jewish guard gunned down during an attack at the city’s main synagogue.
Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt was among the attendees. Also at the funeral was former Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen who spoke about the big turnout.

“It can not get Dan back, but when I talk to the chairman of the Jewish community, I know they appreciate having so much support, the fact that so many Danes have passed by and laid flowers and lit candles at Krystalgade,” he said.
“The entire Danish population has sent a signal that we are on the side of the Jews. And that one should be allowed to have the religion one has and move freely in Danish society,” added Rasmussen.
