It Starts Now, Just Live! Financial Consultant, Tina Park
In 2009, Tina Park became the first female and the first Korean-American to be elected to the board of the Los Angeles Community College District. After a very successful 4-year tenure as a board member, she took everyone by surprise when she announced that she would not run for office again, choosing to pursue a brand new direction for her career.
During her senior year of college she was chosen out of a group of 12 national candidates to join the New York Stock Exchange's auditing department, and since then her career has been a non-stop series of successes and achievements. But in 2001, her first-hand experience with the September 11th terrorist attacks in New York City marked a turning point in her life.
The horror of the experience led her to dedicate her energy to helping out various communities within the realm of politics and economics, as well as human rights organizations. She is currently involved in a campaign to help the Assyrian and Yazidi minority groups of Iraq.
This week on Heart to Heart, we meet with Tina Park, a truly global and passionate woman who never stops challenging herself.
