Teachers' Protests paralyze Mexico City

Thousands of protesting educators took over the Mexican capital. Prevented by police from reaching their goal of holding demonstrations in the Zocalo main square, the teachers installed a mass sit-in that extended over 8 city blocks on the City’s iconic Reforma Avenue, yet hours later they moved the encampment to the plaza that surrounds the Revolution Monument for fear of a violent eviction by Mexico City police.
