Costa Rica: social organizations push for updating communication law

Various social organizations in Costa Rica are calling on the government to update a media law that dates back to 1958 in order to take into account technological advances as well as the inclusion of all communities. Experts say that under the current law, freedom of speech is stifled since only the companies that own and control the mass media get to have a say in what the country watches and listens to. teleSUR
