He's back! Kanye West crashed Beck's Album of the Year speech and then trash-talked the Grammys
Bring on the Grammy Awards drama!
Apparently, Kanye West wasn't joking when he rushed the stage after Beck won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year at the 2015 Grammy Awards on Sunday.
The 37-year-old rapper jumped on stage during Beck's acceptance speech only to retreat back to his seat moments later, and brought back memories of his infamous mic steal from Taylor Swift at the 2009 MTV VMAs after she (like Beck) beat out Beyoncé for a coveted award.
While everyone in the audience – including AOL's reporter Jenny Depper – initially thought that the gimmick was just for laughs, later in the evening West set the record straight about his feelings toward Beck's win for "Morning Phase."
"Beck needs to respect artistry and he should have given his award to Beyoncé," Yeezy said in an interview with E! after the ceremony. "At this point we tired of it because what happens is when you keep on diminishing art and not respecting the craft and smacking people in the face after they deliver monumental feats in music, you're disrespectful to inspiration."
