Extreme poverty in Ecuador has been massively reduced under the government of President Rafael Correa. The percentage of the population living in extreme poverty has fell from 6.2% to 1.9% since 2006. The goal of Ecuador's Citizens' Revolution is to completely eradicate extreme poverty by 2017.
