Locals and animal control officers in Kent County, Michigan are trying to capture one stray canine that's garnered quite a bit of attention.

His name is Shaggy and he looks like a Newfoundland mix. He's not aggressive, but according to Kent County Animal Control Supervisor, he's rather skittish which makes catching him very difficult.

For the past 6 or so months, Shaggy has frequented the same neighborhood. Numerous attempts have been made to catch him in varying ways. Animal control officers tried obtaining his trust and leashing him, but it didn't work.

They've also used traps and recruited the assistance of a zoo veterinarian with tranquilizers but those efforts also proved to be futile.
